The following micro-credentials were designed by LX Studio in collaboration with education and industry experts.

Sustainability in Action

With the growing interest in discovering new ways of environmental stewardship and social equity, students are able to showcase their knowledge, skills and abilities through micro-credential offerings in the Sustainability in Action suite including Sustainability Advocacy, Sustainability Application, Sustainability Exploration.

Black Male Summit Leadership Class

The Black Male Summit Leadership Class is designed to create the next generation of leaders by empowering young black males through five weeks of virtual, hands-on activities. Participants will earn the micro-credential after completing the class which is designed to strengthen leadership skills, enhance self-confidence, and enrich their personal brand.

Public Affairs Legislative Overview

The Public Affairs Legislative Overview provides education about policy and legislative priorities impacting the university community. This training provides tools for UCO community members who engage in advocacy efforts outlining: governing bodies, policies, Capitol visits, annual institutional messaging and more. The training will include the one-time certification along with annual institutional messaging updates which must be completed each year.

Teaching Online Essentials

The Teaching Online Essentials micro-credential is designed primarily for industry and association leaders to demonstrate their capabilities for creating and delivering success online learning experiences.

Coaching and Mentoring

In conjunction with the ADED 5323 Coaching and Mentoring the Adult Learner course, this credential verifies the student has the basic helping skills and theories of coaching and mentoring adults in corporate, non-profit, and educational settings including: listening skills and feedback, relationship building, career and self-assessment processes, conflict management and resolution, ethical and legal issues connected to the helping relationship, self-care when engaged in helping relationships, types of coaching – leadership, and life planning.

ACM@UCO Music Industry Career Awareness

The ACM@UCO Music Industry Career Awareness is designed to allow perspective and current Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM@UCO) students to explore potential career options in the music industry and its connection with ACM@UCO academic programs.

Learning Experience Design

The Learning Experience Design program equips participants to create experiences that help people learn. The training enables them to envision, design, build, and deliver successful learning experiences. As part of this program, learners will discover how to use an innovative system called Learning Environment Modeling (LEM) to enhance their understanding of learning environments, help them make smart design decisions, and collaborate effectively with others. Upon successful completion of all program requirements, participants will earn the Learning Experience Design (LXD) micro-credential.

Leadership Digital Micro-Credential

In conjunction with UCO’s Leadership Minor, this micro-credential gives students a creative way to demonstrate their leadership skills and abilities to others. To earn the micro-credential students submit an eportfolio of learning artifacts that they created in the seven approved academic courses. Earning the micro-credential requires a completed grade of ‘C’ or higher on each of the seven identified course activities.

Leadership in Action

In collaboration with the offices of Leadership Central, Community Engagement and Student Engagement, Leadership in Action is a suite of offerings to help prepare UCO student leaders for their time on campus and set them apart in the workforce when landing their career. Current offerings include: Applied Servant Leadership, Leading Effective Teams, Professional Networking, Effective Communication, Non-Profit Management, Career Readiness.
